I just got back from seeing Toy Story 3 (in 3D) and I have to say it is definitely one of the best movies I have seen in a long time! I left the theatre and honestly wondered if there could have possibly been anything to make it better than it was!
Pixar has always been fantastic at storytelling, and it really shows through with this movie.
Apparently Toy Story 3 had a first day opening of $41 million, which is the biggest opening for an animated feature. I read that on Twitter so I am not sure if it’s 100% true. So, the natural next question is, will there be Toy Story 4!?
Typically, I hate when there are a zillion sequels to movies, but I would absolutely LOVE to see Toy Story 4. The movie ends (no spoiler!) with a feeling of closure, but also leaves it open for the possibility of another movie. I remember a few years ago before Toy Story 3 was given a green light, that some of the people at Pixar were saying there definitely wouldn’t be a Toy Story 3. Then this whole 3D buzz (no pun intended) came around, and it probably changed their minds.
My friend Joe, who went with me, said that Pixar’s next movie is going to be Cars 2, which frankly really annoys me. I didn’t like the first one, and was hoping they would have started on Toy Story 4! Ha!
Anyway, if you haven’t checked out Toy Story 3 yet, definitely go see it. The opening scene is worth the $12 you paid for the glasses!
