Wow, who didn’t see this one coming from a mile away?
Sam Raimi tells Empire that he wants the villain Morbius to be in Spider-Man 4.
“I like it in the Marvel comics when Spider-Man fights Morbius. He’s really cool. A vampire! I like that combination of superhero plus supernatural.”
He probably also likes the paycheck that would come along with the recent surge of interest in vampires. Twilight wave anyone?
It makes sense to go with a vampire in a time when audiences are flocking to watch vampires on the big screen (Twilight), books (Charlaine Harris, Twilight, etc.), and TV shows (True Blood). But, it just seems like he is more worried about making the money than focusing on the story or screenplay.
Are vampires really that amazing? And, why is there such a sudden interest in them?
