Check out the hot and steamy action! Clearly Nadal didn’t care, as you can see him say, “It’s okay!” to the security guards as they pull the man away. Nadal throws his arms up in confusion as to why they would pull a man who just kissed him off of Arthur Ashe stadium.
In his press conference later, Nadal seemed okay with it:
“For me, it wasn’t a problem. The guy was really nice,” Nadal said. “He said, ‘I love you,’ and he kissed me.”

The sometimes controversial father and coach of Venus and Serena Williams has really brought the LOLs lately. In a bizarre situation in women’s tennis, Serena Williams who has won 3 of the last 4 majors, and 11 overall, is ranked No.2 in the world behind Russian Dinara Safina, who has never won a major.
When asked what he thought about the situation, Richard Williams said:
“I think she’s playing great tennis. I think she deserves to be No. 1. I’ll tell ya something else, no one wants to play Sanowa, or whatever her name is. That girl hits that ball.”
That’s right, Richard Williams just called Dinara SAFINA…Sanowa.
Tennis fans will love this.

If you haven’t heard the news, Roger Federer the No. 2 tennis player in the world, and his girlfriend Mirka are expecting their first child this summer.
That’s all well and good, but during a press conference today in Indian Wells, California, Federer said some interesting things.
After defending the fact that his tennis will not falter when the child is born, Federer had this to say about the summer:
“It’s a nice time. And yeah, the baby is due in summer. Summer is a big word, yeah. I’m not going to say anymore.”
Does it sound like he has some sort of big announcement pending? Maybe it’s me reading too deep, but with his recent changing of the guard to Rafael Nadal, you have to wonder what he’s thinking regarding his career. Will he pull an Henin and retire without notice!?
Even With Oversize Racquet Roddick Still Sucks March 4, 2009

I have never been a fan of Andy Roddick, except when he actually won the 2003 U.S. Open. When I saw him fall to the ground and then hug his trophy, it reminded me of the mental image and dreams that I have about winning majors.
However, since then he’s just been a whiney “crank-ass” as my Mom would say. All he does is complain complain complain.
Here he is playing with an oversize racquet and ball, and I would say there’s a pretty good chance he lost that match too.
Don’t get me wrong, I know Roddick is basically our only hope of America winning another slam at the moment, but his attitude is just really annoying. Do you think he’ll win a major this year? Yeah if the top 5 players in the world all get sick at the same time, and he gets to play with that oversize racquet.
Actually, no, not even then.

The 2009 Australian Open was an all Williams affair by all accords.
If you know me at all you know that Serena and Venus are my all time favorite players, of either the men or the women. They are strong-willed, strong-minded women that have a lot of game. I learned how to serve about 6 years ago by watching my tapes of Serena Williams serving. She and Pete Sampras, I would just watch the tapes over and over again.
Well, Serena and Venus, yet again, got together and dominated the field. After teaming up together and winning the Olympic women’s doubles gold medal, seeded 10th they pulled out the goods and won the women’s doubles championship in Australia 2 days ago!
If that wasn’t enough, Serena followed up with a crushing defeat of Dinara Safina to win the Women’s Singles championship (6-0, 6-3)! Serena has won the odd years of the Australian Open since 2003. That’s 2003, 2005, 2007, and now 2009!
Not only did Serena win the doubles, and singles championship, but she reclaimed the world No.1 ranking yet again!
It’s so awesome to see the Williams sisters playing so well again. I was such a huge fan when I started watching them. In fact, I remember the first match that I ever watched of them was the 2002 Wimbledon final. I was at my Dad’s house in Baltimore, turned it on and was hooked ever since. Serena went on to win that match…her first Wimbledon. Back then, even if she lost the final she would be the No.1 player in the world for the first time in her career, dethroning sister Venus.
So now that Seren has made the final of the last 3 majors and won the last 2, she is half way to another Serena Slam. She typically doesn’t do well at Roland Garros in Paris, but hopefully this Serena Slam No.2 will give her some more motivation to win! And, hopefully I will make it to Paris to watch it in person!
