So after Fergie and Britney Spears saw my videos, they called YouTube and had them taken down (drat!). However, YouTube has no added links to buy the music that I used in the video, which I guess means that they can show the video.

Here are the three Chucky videos, featuring Danny Durr as Chucky.

Chucky – Touch (Original song by Amerie)

Chucky – My Humps/Upgrade U/Umbrella (Original songs by Black Eyed Peas, Beyonce, and Rihanna)

Chucky – Piece of Me (Original song by Britney Spears)

chris-crockerYouTube has been really pissing me off a lot lately. Some things make sense, others not so much. For example, Chris Crocker. I think he’s hilarious, though I know a lot of people don’t agree with me. However, you can’t deny the fact that Chris has avereaged nearly 5 million views per any one of his 72 videos. What is that…like a quarter billion views? BILLION!? YouTube has taken Chris off of the top viewed videos of all time list, obviously because he doesn’t fit YouTube’s image of all-American entertainment. Who hasn’t seen the “Leave Britney Alone” video (which has been seen 24 million times). Further, they didn’t invite him, one of the most-viewed channels on YouTube to the YouTube Live event, which conicidently sucked anyway.

Adding to the annoyance, one of my very popular Chucky dance videos (yes the murderous doll), which had been on YouTube for over a year, was recently taken down due to copyright infringement on the audio used. The audio of the 3 minute video was actually 3 songs edited in to one long “remix.” The songs were, “My Humps” by the Black-Eyed Peas (which was cited in the e-mail when they took it down), “Upgrade U” by Beyonce, and “Umbrella” by Rihanna. So, without warning, or any sort of notification, they immediately took it down. It was closing in on 25,000 hits! I was so proud of that work.

So now, YouTube has outdone itself in the annoying department and started to mute the audio on videos that have copyrighted songs. Well, here’s a little hint for YouTube. Isn’t that about 95% of all YouTube videos anyway!? Below is a screen shot of what it looks like when a video is muted. I tried to embed the video, but I guess they disable that as well. The good news is no one is listening to Seal anymore anyway. Still annoying.
