I’m in NYC until Monday. I’m bad at blogging when I am here for some reason, even though there is so much to write about. Danny and I got VIP Floor for Lady Gaga’s Madison Square Garden show in NYC, where she was filming for her HBO special. Also, Paul McCartney was 50 feet away from me the entire time…dancing and singing along.

Sir Paul McCartney 50 feet away. He danced and applauded Gaga all night.

I posted all about it on my Gaga site LadyGagaLive.net.

I don’t know who is watching out for me but thank you for the amazing life that I live.

5 Tribute Shows Glee NEEDS To Do! November 29, 2010

We’re about half way through season 2 of Glee, and we’ve already had our fair share of Glee tribute shows. The Power of Madonna, Lady Gaga, the Britney episode and Rocky Horror. So, I thought what are some tribute shows that Glee, being a show all about musicals and entertainment, should definitely do? Below are 5 tribute episodes I want to see VERY soon!

1. Rent – Rent was arguably the biggest musical of the 90′s. It just makes sense that Glee would eventually do this. We already saw Idina Menzel as Rachel’s mother, so maybe she could find her way back to the show? I think a Rent show would be just as exciting as a Madonna, Britney, or Rocky Horror show! They could even tie it in with someone getting kicked out of their house and trying to get their own place. May be a bit mature for high school students but I could totally see Finn getting kicked out of the house for doing something stupid and swearing he’s going to get his own place, only to realize he can’t do it on his own, and ends up coming back. Yes, Ryan Murphy if you would like to hire me as a writer gimme a ring.

2. The Great American Songbook – This isn’t as glamorous and probably wouldn’t build as much excitement, but considering it was one of the best times in American musical history, it just seems right. Maybe even a whole tribute to Cole Porter!? This would get a lot of musical Glee fans excited…but maybe not the viewing public in general. They’ve already done a few Songbook songs, but a whole tribute show would be amazing!

3. Boybands/Girlbands – With a talented, good-looking cast, it seems like this would be the next great tribute episode. After seeing the Britney episode, Joey Fatone said that he would love to have an NSync tribute show. Yes, NSync was big, but they’re not relevant at all anymore. Something like Backstreet Boys, NSync, New Kids, Boyz II Men. The girls could get in on it too – Spice Girls, All Saints, En Vogue (OMG just had a flash of Mercedes singing Free Your Mind), Destiny’s Child! This could really be a fantastic episode. Plus with New Kids and Backstreet Boys touring together, they could make an appearance to promote their tour! NKOTBSB!

4. Spice Girls – I could actually see a whole Spice Girls episode happening. I mean they DID have their own movie, and gigantic huge successful reunion tour. There’s no doubting the Spice Girls had a huge influence on pop culture and music. Being one of the biggest (if not THE biggest) Spice Girls fan I know (I ain’t got no shame), a Spice Girls tribute show would only make sense. And seeing as how they’re all laying pretty low (minus Mel B) at the moment, I’m sure they would all love to be on the show. How fun would that be!

5. Michael Jackson – I don’t even know if they can get royalties to songs like this, but a Michael Jackson episode seems inevitable. With all the different iconic images of Michael, it seems like it would fit perfectly for this show. I could totally see them doing Thriller! Maybe this will be next year’s Halloween episode! I would love to see Kurt or Finn do the moonwalk, would you? It seems they’re doing Thriller for the post-Superbowl show but I want to see a whole tribute!

Are there any tribute shows you would like to see happen on Glee?

11 Foursquare Badges I Am Determined To Unlock While in NYC August 31, 2010

So, this week I am heading to New York City for a variety of reasons. One of the main ones is to create my life there, but I will be doing fun things as well. Like – go to the U.S. Open, prance around Manhattan aimlessly, and people-watch in Central Park.

However, my new extreme addiction to Foursquare has really made me want to become really good at it. If you aren’t on Foursquare, and have a smart phone, you’re really missing out. It’s a lot of fun.

If you are familiar with Foursquare, here are 10 badges that I am determined to unlock during my stay in New York City, and what I need to do to unlock them. Some are easier said than done, but I think I can do it! Also, friend me on Foursquare if you haven’t already!

The “Historian” badge is the most New York-ish kind of badge there is. And I want it. To unlock this badge, you must first be following The History Channel’s Foursquare page. After you’ve started following, you have to check in to 2 historical landmarks to unlock. There’s a lot of history in New York City, so hopefully I’ll be able to find my way to some of these places. I think it would be cool to check in at the Statue of Liberty – just to say I did it!

I’m certainly not a player, but I do crush like one. The “Player Please” badge unlocks when you have checked in with 3 other males and 3 other females. I am pretty sure this happened when I was at the MTV TJ finale a few weeks ago when the Brooklyn Academy of Music was trending while we were live, but maybe not. Either way I am pretty sure I will be unlocking this badge very soon.

Considering I will be staying in Brooklyn, the “I <3 BK” badge shouldn’t be too hard right? This badge unlocks when you’ve checked in to 25+ places in Brooklyn. I’ve had Foursquare for quite some time now, and am sure I am nearing this milestone in my life. This is one of the ones I am really looking forward to unlocking. (PS this is the only image I could find of the badge, so it’s teeny weenie)

The “Jobs” badge unlocks when you have checked in to 3 or more Apple stores. I haven’t checked in to 3 or more Apple stores? I find that hard to believe. However, Apple is supposed to be updating iPods tomorrow so hopefully they’ll be available to play with and I have more of a reason to check in at that giant glass cube on 5th Avenue.

Here’s another one that blows my mind. The “Barista” badge unlocks when you’ve checked in to 5 or more different Starbucks locations. As much as I love Starbucks, how have I not unlocked this badge? Either way, there is a Starbucks every 10 feet in NYC, so I will be on the lookout.

I love Brooklyn and I love art, so the “BK Art Star” badge is obviously one I am going to work on unlocking. To get this badge you have to be following the Brooklyn Museum Foursquare page, and check in to the Museum 3 times. This might be a little harder to do because I am not the type of person who checks in when they see a venue as they drive by – I like to actually be at the place I am checking in. I am hoping I get to check out this museum when I am in NY – and it will help with my “I <3 BK” badge as well!

The “Far Far Away” badge is pretty straight-forward: check in to any venue above 59th street in Manhattan. I’ll probably check out that hot dog place on 72nd that Gaga always talks about. Plus, I’ll be looking for apartments in the ghetto, so this really should be no problem.

The “Swarm” badge is an awesome badge to add to your collection. You have to have checked in somewhere where 50+ people have checked in within the last hour. Seeing as how I am going to the U.S. Open this week, I shouldn’t have a real problem.

The “Super Swarm” badge is the same as the “Swarm” badge, except you have to have checked in somewhere that 250+ people had checked in within the last hour. This one might be a little more difficult to get, even at the U.S. Open. I’ll be at both a day and night session this week, so I’ll have a few more chances. Otherwise, it might be a while before I get another go at unlocking this badge!

The “Gossip Girl” badge seems like a fun one to have. I am not a fan of the show, but that isn’t to say I don’t like it – I have just never seen it. However, it is said that this badge unlocks when you have checked in to at least one place where Gossip Girl has been filmed in NY or San Francisco. I don’t watch the show, so if you know of any popular places from the show, please leave me a comment!

The “WSJ Urban Adventurer” badge unlocks when you check in to 3 spots in the financial district of New York City. I’m surprised that I haven’t unlocked this already seeing as one of my very good friends, Neall, lived one building from Ground Zero for the last year. I had checked in a lot down there. Either way, I will be stopping at Century 21 or maybe that damn mosque that everyone is crying about.

Wow! Her appeal never ceases to amaze me.

Tonight, Gaga joined Ashton Kutcher and Britney Spears as the only 3 people with 5 million followers or more on Twitter. As of this posting Gaga is at 5,007,500! Man, I wish I had numbers like that!

This just goes to show how adored she is by her fans! Check out the tweet she sent out shortly after crossing the 5 million mark:

MTV TJ Challenge 4 – The Voice of a Generation July 17, 2010

I doubt that this comes as much of a surprise to many, but it’s my honest answer, and maybe not for the reason you think.

MTV Challenge 4 asks:

Personal: If you could only follow one person on Twitter, who would it be and why?

Lady Gaga is more than just the most successful musical artist of the last 2 years. She’s more than just a sex symbol. And she’s more than just an entertainer. She’s a voice of our generation.

When I was in Washington, DC in October for the equality march, Gaga not only marched for equality but gave a beautiful, unforgettable speech where she rallied the hundreds of thousands of people who came from all walks of life to protest on the national mall.

Besides equality Gaga has campaigned for safe sex, AIDS prevention, and is frequently a voice in current politics and social issues of our time.

If I only had one person to follow I would hope that the person combined as much about all of my interests as possible in to his or her tweets. Gaga is a performer, idol, inspiration, and civil rights leader in so many ways. Her multi-facetted perception of the world is what makes her adored by the 4 million people who follow her. She’s no fluke.

Gaga’s tweets are a culmination of entertainment, her music, current events, politics and her personal life — all of which would keep me fully satisfied if I could only follow one person on the planet.

I can’t believe this little girl beat Gaga out of the Most Viewed YouTube video!

I’M JUST KIDDING BELIEBERS DON’T KILL ME!

After only a few months in the top spot, Lady Gaga was dethroned as the most watched video on YouTube.

Currently Bieber has ~247,000,000 views of “Baby” featuring Ludacris.

Gaga has ~246,000,000 views of “Bad Romance.”

Both have incredibly dedicated fan bases, so I would imagine they will be taking turns with the top spot. For now, YouTube has Bieber Fever!

Is Lady Gaga’s 3rd Album Titled “Born This Way?” July 14, 2010

If you check out my Gaga fansite LadyGagaLive.net, you may have already seen this post. However, as part of my MTV TJ ongoing challenge, I am to report on all things Lady Gaga, including her massively successful Monster Ball.

I’ve been reading and listening to literally all of Gaga’s latest interviews to keep the fans happy on LadyGagaLive.net. And after listening to a few of her most recent ones, have come up with an interesting theory. Given the interviews that she has been giving, there is evidence to believe Gaga’s third album will be called “Born This Way.”

A few weeks ago I posted a link on LadyGagaLive.net to check out Gaga’s interview with Alexander Fury from ShowStudio.com. In the interview, Jonas Åkerlund, who directed her “Paparazzi” and “Telephone” videos asked the following question:

Alexander Fury:
What would you call the movie about your life? – Asked by Jonas Åkerlund, Sweden

Lady Gaga:
Born This Way

A few questions later, she mentions what her next tattoo will be:

Alexander Fury:
My favorite tattoo of yours is “Tokyo Love”. What will your next tattoo be and where on your body will it be? - Asked by Matthew Williams, London.

Lady Gaga:
I don’t know. I want to get one that says ‘Born This Way’ and one that says ‘Free Bitch’, I think. But I’m not quite sure

The final piece to the puzzle was in this month’s Rolling Stone magazine (out on news stands now):

“I think I’m just gonna get the album title tattooed on me and put out the photo. I’m going to announce the title of the of the album at midnight on New Year’s.”

It’s an interesting couple of excerpts that could lead to the actual album title. I haven’t seen this title ANYWHERE else on the internet, and came up with this completely on my own. I have a really good hunch that it’s truth, and can’t wait until the album title is released on New Year’s Eve.

What do you think? Does “Born This Way” sound like the third Gaga album?

Wow! Can you imagine being Gaga right now? Playing on John Lennon’s piano!?

John Lennon’s son, Sean Lennon, took his Twitter account and tweeted a pic of Gaga playing on John Lennon’s white piano.

With gaga at mom’s house, she’s belting on the white piano…
