Riding high off of all the promotion they’ve been getting from Lady Gaga’s “Alejandro” comparison, Ace of Base have released a promo to their new song “All For You!”
And wow, it’s pretty good!
Check out the promo below, and let me know what you think!

I use a fun little application called Last.fm on my Mac. (Click here to see my track stats since 2007). It tracks every single song that I play on iTunes and my iPhone. I love it because I get to see what I have been listening to and what were the most played artists over the last week, 3 months, 6 months, 12 months, and overall.
This count isn’t entirely accurate, because I don’t have an iPod dock in my car. I just play CDs. So, odds are Beyonce and Lady Gaga would have higher play counts this year, but alas, here is documentation of my top 10 most-played tracks of 2009:
10. John Mayer – Who Says
This one really surprised me as being my No.10 track this year. I only had this song in my iTunes for a couple of months and I can’t say it’s even one of my favorite songs. Either way it made it to No.10 in 2009 with 33 plays.
9. Sam Sparro – Black and Gold
This was a nice surprise when I saw my list. I knew I had played it a lot, but didn’t realize I had played it so much! I really love Sam Sparro and I really love this song. It ended the year with 35 plays.
8. Brittney Tyler – My Song
This is probably the most surprising of all of my tracks that made it in my Top 10. Brittney is actually my best friend and not a signed musician. I had posted her music on my YouTube account (with her permission) and this was one of the ones that I never posted. The song is an original of hers, and I hope that we will have it posted sometime soon. This track is at No.8 in 2009 with 38 plays.
7. Britney Spears – 3
Another Britney makes it on to my Top 10, and surprisingly she is less talented than the other! Britney Spears, who I am growing to hate for some reason, released this ridiculously catchy song “3″ in the fall and I couldn’t stop listening to it. It’s so catchy! Now if only she could read music, sing live, and play the ukulele like the Brittney at No.8, I would be okay with this. Anyway, ’3′ is No.7 with 43 plays.
6. Beyonce feat. Lady Gaga – Video Phone
Well the rest of the countdown is pretty much a landslide. The only Beyonce song to make it in to my Top 10 this year is the one featuring the one and only Lady Gaga. The next closest Beyonce song of 2009 was “Diva” at No.37 with 16 plays. As mentioned above, a lot of my obsession with this album came via my CD player in my car. Anyway, Video Phone used to be one of my least favorite songs on Beyonce’s “I Am…” album, but after it was rereleased with a Gaga verse, I instantly loved it. Most hard core Gaga fans hate this song, but I will play it all day if I can. “Video Phone” is No.6 with 55 plays.
5. Lady Gaga – Speechless
In like 3 days I had played this song 30-some times. All of the songs from Gaga’s “Fame Monster” album were instant classics for me (minus “Telephone” surprisingly…which everyone loves). This song earned its way right to the top of my “Shower Concert Tour” playlist almost immediately. “Speechless” is No.5 in 2009 with 56 plays.
4. Lady Gaga – Monster
When I first listened to “Monster,” most of my friends had already heard it because I waited until the album was released to listen to it, rather than listening to the leak. It had an immediate effect on my mood and overall demeanor, which is always a good sign when it comes to music. I still can’t get enough of this song, and I am sure it will be in my Top 10 of 2010 as well. “Monster” is No.4 in 2009 with 58 plays.
3. Lady Gaga – Bad Romance
I was surprised that this song was only No.3 when I looked at my stats. I had the demo of this song for about a month before its actual release and thought that all the extra plays would put it higher. Either way this song is one of my favorite of the year, and will always remind me of 2009. This is the song that inspired a collection of paintings that I am working on based off of “The Fame Monster” album. Each song will have its own painting. I’m calling it The Monster Collection. You can check out the finished painting right here. More on that later! “Bad Romance” is No.3 in 2009 with 97 plays (compared to Danny Lamas’ 232 plays, that’s nothing!)
2. Lady Gaga – Dance In the Dark
If I were to pick a song that I thought would be No.2 by the end of 2009, I probably wouldn’t have picked this one. Though I love it, and play it often, there are other songs that remind me of the year. The producer of this song, the amazing Fernando Garibay, has retweeted me a few times regarding the painting that I am doing for this song. He told me he would post the painting on Twitter once I was done with it. I am not done with it at all, and am actually stuck on it, but as soon as it’s finished, he’ll be the first to know. This song is FANTASTIC and an instant classic and if released as a single, I am sure will be a huge hit. “Dance in the Dark” is No.2 in 2009 with 101 plays.
1. Lady Gaga – Alejandro
This is another one of the songs that I had the demo for a while before having the finished track. Hearing the finished track compared to the demo made me absolutely ADDICTED to this song. The painting for this song is finished and can be seen here. It’s hard to think that “Alejandro” is my No.1 song of 2009, but the numbers don’t lie! “Alejandro” is my No.1 played song in 2009 with 142 plays.
What makes my Top 5 songs interesting is that my No.1 song of all time (for the last 3 years at least) was David Archuleta’s live version of “Imagine” with 92 plays. My top songs hadn’t changed at all over the last year until Lady Gaga’s “The Fame Monster” came out, and immediately 4 different songs became my most played ever! I think that’s pretty influential if you ask me. I can’t wait to look back on this list in 2010 and see the differences!

To me my outfits aren’t wacky. They are who I am. The fame can kill you. You say I am my clothes, and I am my clothes. And my clothes bleed too. Just like me.
