Oh. My. God!!!
After one of my best friends choreographed a song off of this album at his senior dance company concert, I decided to check out Sam Sparro, and boy oh boy am I glad I did!
Sam Sparro is an Australian-born musician who has some of the best music I’ve heard in the last couple of years. The hit off of this album is easily “Black and Gold” which was nominated for Best Dance Recording at this year’s Grammys. It ended up losing, but it’s such an awesome song.
Another song off of the album that is fun to listen to is “Clingwrap.” The lyrics are “You must have thought I was a snack, cuz you’re stickin to me like clingwrap.” SO GOOD!
Sam’s voice is a mix of Stevie Wonder and Prince. Everything is so original, and so well produced. If you can think of a male version Lady Gaga, only 100 times better, that’s him.
