american-cities-129Bad news if you’re alive.

According to numbers just released today, the United States lost 598,000 jobs in the month of January alone. The national unemployment rate is 7.6%.

January 2009 became the third biggest loss of employment in the history of our country. That’s just behind 1944 after World War II, and worst since 1974.

598,000 people lost their jobs, but think about how many families that is. For every 1 person that lost their job there are probably at least 2 other people being affected directly.

It’s a sad day in America. How did we get here? Is it the war in Iraq? What major event is the reason behind our country being in the worst position since WORLD WAR II!?! I don’t get it. Thoughts?

“Bad news if you’re alive.”

Best opening line I’ve seen in a while.
