So if you frequent my website at all, you should know by now that I am a huge fan of Ingrid Michaelson. So, long story long short: I signed up to win tickets through her Street Team on Ingridmichaelson.com The first person to sign up for the Street Team in each of the cities in which she was performing would get a pair of free tickets. However, in exchange for the free tickets, I had to do promotion of the tour, document it, and then send it to Street Team website so I could get my name on the will-call. Well, I WON THE TICKETS! So, that is why I had all this Ingrid Michaelson stuff all over my website, MySpace, Facebook, YouTube, Twitter. You get the idea.
Naturally, I offered the other ticket to Brittney. I got back from Canada Sunday night. Passed out in my bed nearly the moment I walked in. Then, Brittney was at my apartment at 12:30PM on Monday. We got lunch with C’Anna, and then headed to Pittsburgh to beat the nasty weather (which we didn’t beat). We had just enough time to run in to South Hills Village so I could get a new iPhone 3G dock, grab a coffee at Starbucks, and get in to the venue at Club Cafe.
Needless to say, I had a freaking blast. The 2 opening acts were amazing! David Ford and Newton Faulkner. Both are brilliant musicians. I was literally a foot in front of the stage, which was at eye level.
What made it so fun was that I was tweeting on Twitter about being there, and decided I would send Ingrid a good luck message as we were waiting for her to come out, just to see if she would reply. She has replied to me and Brittney quite a few times via Twitter. So I sent it, and she totally wrote back! Over on the right you can see the couple of messages that I sent to her and then her response in the purple box. I apparently had really bad reception because it ended up sending 3 times. Way to go John. It was surreal to be interacting with her right before she got on stage.
So the show was absolutely amazing, and I had such a great time seeing her again. After the show, Brittney and I were kind of hungry so we decided to drive down a few blocks to Tom’s Diner. It’s a pretty popular place to go for food at all hours of the night on Carson Street in Pittsburgh. We went in, sat down, and ordered. My back was to the window, and Brittney kept psyching me out telling me that Ingrid was right behind me about to walk in. Something was telling me she might. Well, as it turns out, who should walk in, but the entire band, minus Ingrid. Yep, that includes Allie Moss!! For those of you who are fans of I
ngrid, I am sure you know who Allie is. She walked in, looked at me, and smiled. I smiled back and did a weird, “Helloooo,” to which their manager just looked at me like, “Who the hell are you?” I tweeted to Allie and she replied as well.
I had such a great time, and it was fun to be sitting around Tom’s Diner with no one else but Ingrid Michaelson’s entire band. I hope she gets some rest, and starts work on her new album. We need brand spankin new stuff! Huge thanks to the Ingrid Michaelson street team for hooking me up with free tickets. I was so excited, and the tickets couldn’t have gone to anyone more deserving, I promise!

John, What is “tweeter”?
